Humanity - How to Continue?
We may wonder what our ladder of life looks like, on what rung we are, what is driving us and above all, where we are going. Around the beginning of the Christian era, the heart of the earth was brought into a higher vibration by the descent of the cosmic Christ power. This impulse not only shook the world at that time, but it is growing in power and has an ever-stronger effect on humanity now.
ALARM BELL Rosicrucians and others have sketched an image of the all-creation with a cosmogony, which explains the origin of the universe, and with a cosmology, which describes the structure of the universe. Through it, we can become acquainted with the rise and fall of the Lemurian and Atlantean civilisations and the developments of the current Aryan era with its different subraces. Seen from this perspective, the mentioned civilizations have contributed to the formation of our current consciousness. Subsequently, fundamental developments in the sciences have brought the world and humanity accelerated technological developments, together with their ensuing problems. Just think about industrialisation, nuclear fission, pollution of air, water and earth, food shortages, urbanisation and the concomitant depopulation of rural areas, stress and psychological degeneration and, more recently, the flight into virtual life. By the end of the 1960’s, leading scientists, united in the Club of Rome, started to sound the alarm bell. On a global level, they described the problems of population growth, food production, industrialisation, pollution and exhaustion of energy resources. They warned that the clock showed one minute to twelve. In 2005, the UN published an alarming ecological report demonstrating that without a change of course, the world would perish in the foreseeable future. It seems that the world and humanity have indeed become a critically ill cell in the universe. All over the world, there are groups that try to turn the tide. In Europe, we see the application of a wide range of environmental laws. Sometimes they are so bizarre that one would think these civil servants should take a course on putting things in perspective in a Southern or Central American country. But what matters, of course, is whether or not there is an essential change in the behaviour and psyche of humanity. NO BLIND REACTION The goal of the Club of Budapest, founded in 1993, is to stimulate a profound change of the human consciousness, and in this way to achieve a general, new consciousness. The founder of this club, the Hungarian Evrin Laszlo, explicitly points out the unity of life and the coherence of everything, both on earth and in the universe, from which nothing and no one is excluded. He also states that every day that passes without a new idea is a day lost. Al Gore and Bill Clinton have sounded the alarm about the extremely fast global warming and the great dangers this involves for humanity. Many other, less well-known people, preceded them years ago with essentially the same message. Nevertheless, humanity simply continues as if nothing is the matter. The large majority of humanity appears to be blind. The developments seem to be taking place by fits and starts, so that the consciousness is also breaking up by fits and starts. To many people this is disconcerting. Many lose their so-called certainties and are confused. Others rightly ask themselves if the tide can still be turned. Looking back into world history from a wider perspective, it becomes clear that there have always been changes in the relationship between air, water and earth. Throughout time, the speed of rotation of the earth and the angle of the earth’s axis have also periodically changed. There have been periods with and without ice, with and without a lot of vapour in the air as well as other stellar constellations, but also times of sudden and very radical changes. It is generally assumed that these changes were the result of natural geological processes and unforeseeable developments in the cosmos. In the light of the earlier mentioned cosmogony and
cosmology, we can arrive at an entirely different explanation,
stating that this does not concern autonomous, natural processes,
but rather a reaction of nature to the psychological and material
behaviour of humanity. It no longer corresponds with the purpose of
earthly life, and has caused enormous tension in the atmosphere. In
different ways, these tensions have an effect on life on earth.
Ancient wisdom states that it is not a matter of nature's reacting
blindly. Seen from a higher principle of consciousness, these
phenomena are a correction on the conditions of life, intended to
prevent life from crystallising and obstructing opportunities for
development. The founders of the Spiritual School of the modern
Rosycross, J van Rijckenborgh
and Catharose de Petri, always pointed out to their pupils the
earth’s rapidly changing conditions as a result of a cosmic
change. But above all, they have shown a path of liberation out of
the material restrictions of this field of life for our modern time.
They explained this path in minute detail -- down to the level of
the atom -- and sketched how the Spirit-Soul human being can
manifest himself. According to these teachings, the earth and humanity have now arrived at a time in which the electrical or fire ether, which is related to the fifth manifestation of the atom, is unfolding and developing powerfully. This new energy is also referred to as the soul ether. It is the first manifestation of the atom that surpasses the familiar, earthly vibrations. The release of this energy is a result of the earlier mentioned descent of the Christ power. The inner aspect of the human being is purified, further constructed and if possible lifted onto a higher plane by it. TWO ENTITIES Any earthly consciousness can function by virtue of the activity of a power that is called the planetary Spirit. The planetary Spirit is analogous to the principle: ‘as in what is great, so in what is small’. It is an expression of the dialectical aspect of our earth and can be compared to the human personality. Every human consciousness lives from the forces, the energies, of this material, earthly field. By its nature, it is a limited, outwardly directed consciousness. Our natural course of life, however, is also intersected by inwardly directed forces of the consciousness. The universal teachings distinguish between the planetary Spirit and the planetary Logos. The planetary Spirit is, as mentioned before, linked to the gross-material earth and its more subtle aspects. The planetary Spirit is nevertheless in every respect the executor of the planetary Logos. The planetary Logos is the nucleus power of the original earth, also called the holy earth, because a pure development occurs in it. J van Rijckenborgh says that our world originated from this holy earth as a training school and field of development for the microcosm, a temporary field in which it gains experience. After the training period has been accomplished, the microcosm can continue its own development. The planetary Logos is therefore the beginning -- the alpha -- but also the end -- the omega. Hence the statement in the Bible: ‘Behold, I make all things new. I am the alpha and the omega, the beginning and the end.’ Although separated, the two natures, the earth and the holy earth, are closely linked: what is higher penetrates what is lower. The microcosm originates from the field of manifestation of the holy earth, and the personality is of the dialectical nature, ‘the land of our sojourning’. As J van Rijckenborgh explains in The Gnosis in Present-day Manifestation, it can be said to the personality: ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is within you’, because the relationship between the planetary Spirit and the planetary Logos is continuously developing. The existence of the planetary Spirit is a mystery. It is an entity that develops in an ascending line and that is closely linked with the planetary Logos. In a certain respect, this can also be said about the personality. The microcosm is and remains ‘God’s offspring’. The personality is subject to time and space, but the electromagnetic state of the personality also depends on its orientation to the inner ‘Divine kingdom’ and the ensuing state of consciousness. The seeking human being is also developing. When the main focus of life is transferred from the earthly orientation to the primordial foundation of the planetary Logos, gradually a radical change of the total human being begins to occur. In this time, the earth and the whole of humanity are confronted with the fact that a greater density of material experience is no longer possible. The atomic structure of the entire planet is going to change completely. J van Rijckenborgh speaks of a spiritualization of matter, not so much in the sense of perfection, but of becoming more transparent, subtle, and finally of the disappearance of matter, or the transition into another state.
THE FIRE ETHER It is a process that is already far advanced in the tenuous realms, the etheric spheres, as we can ascertain. Everything is becoming manifest, knowable, almost visible. Likewise, nothing can remain hidden. Humanity is now very explicitly concentrated on this in a material sense. Because the solar body and its planets are now embedded in a vibration field of a spiritual nature, which makes itself known to our earth as a higher energy, and as this will increase in the times to come, the atomic structures are also under a higher pressure. In these times, the transformation of matter has already started in a concrete fashion. When an atom is exposed to a higher energy, the electrons are at a certain moment forced to leap onto a higher orbit. Once that higher energy disappears, the electron will fall back to its former orbit and energy will be released. When the energy field stays at a constant, high level, this will be expressed as more vibratory power, spirit power or consciousness. In physics, this phenomena is called a quantum leap. The possibilities, hidden in the material atom, manifest themselves, guided by the planetary Spirit, and the resulting forces cause the human being to become more and more open to a broader outlook on life and its developments. His consciousness thereby becomes more receptive and noticeably susceptible to another philosophy of life and perhaps also to a more spiritual meaning and purpose of life. In fact, more space is created for his inner being. The effect of a higher, multidimensional, spiritual power will result in a totally different and so far totally unknown manifestation of the atom. It is, as we said before, the power that is released from the innermost part of the atom. This is the fifth atomic manifestation, the quintessence of what really matters and what the modern Rosycross calls the fire ether. It is this power that urges man not only to fulfil all his life’s possibilities, but to fulfil his true task of life as well. The same power will also remove everything which is potentially present, but which humanity does not develop. It is a power that comes ‘as a thief in the night if man is not awake’, as the Book of Revelations says. These two processes--that of a higher susceptibility and that of the new etheric, atomic manifestation--are combined in the present time. Obviously the multidimensional influences not only reinforce and surpass the dimensions of time and space, but above all place them in a special light. It is the cooperation, or at least the effect of the powers of the planetary Logos on the planetary Spirit, which is thus driven to a higher stage of development, and which takes the inhabitants of the earth along in it. The planetary Spirit is actually a projection of the planetary Logos, and its focal point lies in the heart of the earth as well as analogously, in the human heart.
BECOMING RECEPTIVE TO NEW VALUES How concrete are all these changes and what are the consequences for the earth and humanity? We know that the chemical formula of water is H2O, the combination of two atoms of hydrogen and one atom of oxygen. It is an ideal and harmonious whole that strongly absorbs heat and energy. With all its seas and oceans, with all its flora and fauna, the surface of our planet largely consists of water. The same is true for the human being: 70 to 80% is water. The discoveries about the influence and the power of assimilation of water, which the Japanese researcher Masaru Emoto has demonstrated and published, are in this perspective very relevant. Through the increasing influence of the Aquarian energy on the earth and humanity, the atomic structure of water is also influenced and changed. This change is very important for the human consciousness, which eventually is the sum of the consciousness of all its cells. In an energy field like that of the Spiritual School--depending on our mode of life and directedness--this also implies that the process of our cell division is accelerating. This accelerated cell division also influences the etheric realm. If we further realise that the dematerialisation process also plays a role, it will become even clearer that the human consciousness is also under pressure because of this. The human consciousness not only changes, but becomes more sensitive and what is subtle presents itself more strongly. In this way, people can become susceptible to totally different values, if only in that they can receive a clear notion of their state of being and the situation in which they find themselves. The human being should eventually become more or less able to understand and sense what is happening and what his task is. But above all, he must be able to see the nature of his truth and what choices he may have. It is impossible that the Gnosis becomes part of this nature; nature and eternity are mutually exclusive. In the process of transfiguration, this impossibility can be neutralised when the personality makes itself completely subservient to the imperishable atom, that is, when the rose, as an organic part of the microcosm, is attached to the cross of the natural personality.
GROWING CONSCIOUSNESS For those whose inner directedness is wholly going up into the forces emanating from the rose, this impossibility is dissolved and the ‘missing link’ is found that temporarily connects the earthly mind and consciousness with the Gnosis. Their atoms will also change in a completely different and wondrous way, even to the extent that they will pass through several transmutations and eventually can become free from the electromagnetic attraction and gravitational forces of the dialectical realms, through transfiguration. The human spinal system contains a hydrogen constant. Hydrogen has only one electron, which can quite easily be driven to a higher orbit by an electromagnetic field. This so-called serpent fire can be compared to an atomic pillar, a nuclear reactor, as the universal teachings explain. It is said, that every pupil who walks the path becomes a living nuclear reactor and applies nuclear fission. Because of this, the atoms, of which the human being is composed, show their true nature, but above all display and spread their powers. This is inevitable. It is a new dimension with which contact is made and which manifests itself in the microcosm as well as in the Living Body of the Spiritual School. It is the dimension of the higher, growing, etheric consciousness. It is the dimension of the manifestation of the living soul of the new man. At a certain point of development, this eternal soul has two forms of expression at its disposal. We might say that one is for the original life field and one is for our field of life, which is sometimes called the land of our sojourning. Many are becoming ever more aware of their state of being sojourners through the discussed changes of the atomic structures, and they are becoming aware of their ignorance and their confusion. Increasingly, they are open to change and renewal. Since the atmosphere of the earth and the respiration field of humanity are changing rapidly, humanity cannot afford to simply hold an expectant attitude. With those who have a spiritual goal in mind and begin to live from it, the earth will go its own way with these followers in accordance with its own laws. Surely this is because we sow the wind and reap the storm; this has never been different. Also now the time of spiritual realisation is dawning and consequently this opens up new possibilities for a tremendous change, for renewal and for the salvation of many. © Lectorium Rosicrucianum 2008.
